Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye arrived in Bissau on Monday morning for a two-day state visit aimed at deepening cooperation and reinforcing good neighborly relations with Guinea-Bissau.
The visit, taking place on May 26 and 27, 2025, follows an invitation from Guinean President Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
The two nations share deep-rooted historical, geographical, and cultural bonds.
The agenda includes bilateral discussions between the two presidents and meetings between their official delegations to enhance political dialogue and strategic partnership.
This marks President Faye’s third visit to Guinea-Bissau and underscores the country’s significance in his regional diplomacy.
Guinea-Bissau was among the first African nations to receive him following his election as Senegal’s fifth president in March 2024.
