The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has established a Command School to provide children of its personnel with access to quality education, as part of efforts to improve staff welfare and support their families.
The agency’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, announced the commitment on Friday during a visit to the newly established school at the NDLEA barracks in Yola, Adamawa State, northeastern Nigeria. He inspected the facilities and interacted with pupils, students and teachers.
Marwa urged the children to remain disciplined, punctual and committed to their studies. He also encouraged them to respect their parents and teachers and stay away from illicit drugs.
He said the agency would continue investing in the school to improve educational standards and develop it into one of Nigeria’s leading institutions.
During the visit, Marwa also met members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and other residents of the barracks. They welcomed the school’s establishment, describing it as an important investment in their children’s education and future.
The visit formed part of the agency’s efforts to assess the school’s development and engage with personnel and their families on welfare matters.
