Burkina Faso has dissolved 118 associations as part of a broader restructuring of its institutional space, citing failure to comply with legal requirements.
The decision, announced by Emile Zerbo, bans the organizations from operating nationwide, with authorities warning of sanctions for any violations.
The move follows earlier sweeping reforms, including the dissolution of political parties in January under the leadership of Ibrahim Traoré.
Officials say the process aims to strengthen state control and national cohesion, although the affected groups span key sectors such as human rights, health, education, and social development.
