Burkina Faso Receives 13 billion FCFA Agricultural Equipment from Ghana

The Burkinabe government has undertaken a mission to Ghana to receive essential equipment for its hydro-agricultural development projects.

Burkina Faso’s Minister of Agriculture, Ismaël Sombié, traveled to Ghana on Thursday to oversee the arrival and formalities for the reception of the equipment, which had been stored at Tema Port.

Acquired for the National Office of Dams and Hydro-Agricultural Development (ONBAH) and the National Company for Land Development and Rural Equipment (SONATER), the equipment includes graders, hydraulic shovels, backhoe loaders, loaders, bulldozers, mixed sheepsfoot compactors, smooth rollers, and tandem roller compactors.

The machinery, worth over 13 billion CFA francs, was purchased through Burkina Faso’s state budget.

Officials highlight that this cutting-edge equipment will enhance ONBAH and SONATER’s ability to develop crucial infrastructure and optimize hydro-agricultural projects.
