The Chadian National Assembly has issued a directive requiring all former members of the National Transitional Council, including those re-elected to the new legislature, to return their diplomatic passports.
In an official statement released on April 24 by the General Secretariat of the Assembly, 203 former transitional national advisers are instructed to submit the diplomatic documents to the Directorate of Protocol and International Cooperation.
The passports were originally issued during the lawmakers’ parliamentary mandate under the now-concluded 4th Legislature, which served as part of a nearly four-year national transition.
The move comes as a newly elected assembly takes over, marking the end of the transitional phase and ushering in a new chapter in Chad’s legislative governance.
