Côte d’Ivoire Boosts Power Infrastructure Despite Temporary Disruptions in Western Region

The Ivorian Electricity Company (CIE) has announced the successful completion of critical reinforcement works on the 225 kV Buyo-Man N°1 and 2 substation, situated in Duékoué in the western part of the country. This initiative is part of Côte d’Ivoire’s broader commitment to enhancing and modernising its national electricity network.

The technical operations, which began on Sunday, 1st June and are expected to conclude by Wednesday, 25th June 2025, aim to strengthen the reliability and efficiency of strategic energy infrastructure across the nation.

During this period, however, temporary disruptions to electricity supply are anticipated in the towns of Man, Zagné, Touleupleu, Laboa, Danané, and Ity. Residents in surrounding areas may also experience occasional outages or reduced service as work progresses.

CIE has assured the public that all necessary measures are in place to limit the inconvenience. Technical teams have been fully mobilised, with additional resources allocated to ensure swift and effective execution of the upgrades.
