The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) has announced the formation of its electoral committee to prepare for the country’s upcoming legislative elections scheduled for December 27, 2025.
In a statement issued on November 3, PDCI president Tidjane Thiam confirmed the appointment of members to the “PDCI Electoral Committee for the 2025 Legislative Elections.”
Thiam will serve as general supervisor of the committee, which also includes three deputy supervisors , Émile Constant Bombet, Jean-Marie Kakou-Gervais, and Assana Sangagé.
The appointments come as Côte d’Ivoire gears up for parliamentary elections following a decree signed by President Alassane Ouattara on July 30, officially convening voters for the December polls.
According to the electoral calendar released by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), candidate submissions are open from October 31 to November 12, followed by an eligibility review by the Constitutional Council starting November 19.
The official campaign period will run from December 19 to December 26, ending a day before Ivorians head to the polls to elect members of the National Assembly.
The vote is expected to be a key political test for the opposition, as the PDCI seeks to strengthen its parliamentary presence after the 2021 elections and reposition itself as a major challenger to President Ouattara’s ruling party.
