ECOWAS Condemns Violence in Northern Mali

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has condemned the recent violence in northern Mali.

In a statement made yesterday, the sub-regional organization expressed its support for the Malian people following the attacks against Malian armed forces in Tinzaouatène.

ECOWAS strongly disapproved of any possible support from Ukraine for armed groups in the region, reiterating its commitment to the stability and security of Mali.

The organization emphasized the need for all parties to seek peaceful resolutions and to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mali.

This condemnation comes in response to the recent escalation of violence, which has further destabilized the already volatile northern region of Mali. ECOWAS continues to advocate for peace and cooperation among member states to address regional security challenges.
