Ghanaian authorities have initiated the immediate evacuation of its citizens from Iran, citing growing insecurity in the region following the escalation in hostilities with Israel.
The directive, issued on Monday, comes as part of urgent measures to protect Ghanaian lives abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration confirmed the decision, stating that the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East necessitated swift action.
The Ghanaian embassy in Tehran has been temporarily closed, and arrangements are underway for the evacuation of all nationals, including diplomats, students, and professionals, via land routes.
In a related development, the Ghanaian mission in Tel Aviv is operating at minimal capacity, with consular services remaining available. Ghanaians residing in Israel have been advised to stay in close contact with embassy officials and to exercise heightened caution.
