Ghana to Host Africa Monologue Challenge Season 3 to Promote Pan-African Storytelling and Trade

Ghana has been selected to host the third season of the Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC), a flagship continental initiative aimed at promoting African creative talent, cultural exchange, and economic integration.

Held under the theme “Using Africa’s Creative Economy to Promote Intra-African Trade,” the event aligns with Ghana’s growing role in advancing continental cooperation ahead of the country’s expected assumption of the African Union chairmanship in 2027. Organized by MK Casting in partnership with the African Chamber of Content Producers and the National Film Authority of Ghana, the competition has become a major platform for discovering and nurturing African creative talent.

While Côte d’Ivoire was initially expected to host the third edition, organizers and Ivorian authorities agreed to move the event to Ghana as a symbolic gesture ahead of the country’s continental leadership role.

The competition will bring together 12 finalists from across Africa and the diaspora for a month-long Pan-African House residency in Ghana, featuring participants from Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Botswana, the Republic of the Congo, Benin, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and the United States diaspora.

The programme will include workshops on Pan-Africanism, cultural heritage tours to landmarks such as Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, and Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, as well as interactions with entrepreneurs, traditional leaders, and diplomats.

Participants will also collaborate on a short feature film promoting African unity and creative collaboration.

The season will culminate in a grand finale where finalists will compete for the AMC crown, while also determining the host country for Season 4.

Organizers say the initiative supports the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area by using the creative economy as a tool for strengthening trade, cultural diplomacy, and economic cooperation across Africa.
