Ghana to Launch Pioneering E-Health Initiative

The Ghanaian government is set to introduce a revolutionary digital health initiative called E-Health, which will transition the country’s healthcare system from traditional paper-based patient records to an electronic management system.

Developed by Light wave e-Health Solutions in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, this initiative is the first of its kind in Africa.

E-Health will establish a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) and patient management system, integrating protocols from Ghana’s Disease Surveillance Unit.

It will digitize patient records across teaching, regional, and district hospitals, allowing seamless access to records between facilities.

Healthcare professionals will benefit from real-time access to patient data, improving diagnosis, treatment, and continuity of care.

This groundbreaking project is expected to enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery nationwide.
