Guinean Political Parties Reject Government’s Uncertainty Over 2024 Elections

Guinea’s political parties have strongly opposed remarks made by government spokesperson Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, who suggested that not all elections will be held this year.

Politicians see this as a sign of disorder at the highest levels of the state and are demanding that General Mamadi Doumbouya provide a clear and precise electoral calendar.

Dr. Ibrahima Sory Diallo, leader of the ADC-BOC party, accused the government of lacking the political will to organize elections. The Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG), led by Cellou Dalein Diallo, also rejected the statement.

Samuel Kourouma, an opposition member, criticized the government’s stance.

Several opposition groups are now threatening to take action if all elections are not held by the end of the year, as previously promised by General Doumbouya.
