The Chadian government is set to receive $625 million in financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under a new four-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program running from 2025 to 2029.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, the program aims to strengthen macroeconomic stability, support ongoing reforms, and advance the country’s National Development Plan, “Chad Connection 2030.”
The financing package will prioritize foundational infrastructure, basic social services, economic and industrial development, and improving the business environment.
Authorities say the approval reflects growing international confidence in Chad’s reform agenda and economic direction.
The agreement includes an immediate disbursement of $40 million, with further funding to follow through biannual performance reviews.
