Malian Prime Minister Criticizes Transitional Government Over Transparency and Governance

Malian Prime Minister Choguel Maïga has publicly raised concerns about the transitional government led by Army General Assimi Goïta, citing issues of transparency and governance.

During a speech marking the commemoration of the liberation of Kidal, Maïga expressed dissatisfaction with the regime’s handling of key national matters, particularly the postponed elections and the indefinite extension of the transition period.

The Prime Minister revealed that he is frequently excluded from critical decision-making processes, lamenting that he often learns about significant government actions through media reports rather than through official communication channels.

This public criticism underscores the growing tensions within Mali’s transitional administration, as citizens and political stakeholders continue to demand clarity and accountability on the nation’s path toward a constitutional democratic order.
