The Nigerian government has announced plans to convert one million petrol and diesel vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG) as part of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNI).
This initiative follows President Bola Tinubu’s decision to halt fuel subsidies.
PCNI’s Commercial Operations Manager, Omo Imoukhuede, shared the latest updates during a recent tour of the CNG kit conversion workshops in Abuja.
The initiative aims to provide a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional fuels, reducing the country’s reliance on petrol and diesel.
This strategic move is expected to lower fuel costs for consumers and decrease the environmental impact of vehicle emissions.
The government’s commitment to the CNG conversion project highlights its focus on energy diversification and economic efficiency.
