Nigerian Airstrikes Kill Over 15 Boko Haram Fighters in Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Army says more than 15 Boko Haram terrorists have been killed in airstrikes targeting their hideouts in the Zuwa area of Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The operation, carried out on September 3 under Operation Hadin Kai, followed credible intelligence and surveillance that identified a terrorist enclave west of Zuwa.

The strikes destroyed key structures used by fighters and commanders linked to recent hostilities around Bitta, according to military sources.

Authorities said the operation demonstrates the Nigerian Air Force’s precision and determination to dismantle terrorist networks while protecting lives and supporting ground forces.

Boko Haram, which operates across Nigeria’s northeast and neighboring Chad, Niger, and Cameroon, remains notorious for attacks on civilians, schools, and security forces.

The ongoing campaign against the group is also backed by the Multinational Joint Task Force, which includes regional partners and support from Western allies.
