PDCI Côte d’Ivoire to Soon Announce Presidential Candidate for 2025 Elections

The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) has announced plans to soon unveil its presidential candidate for the upcoming October 2025 elections.

This announcement will be made during a convention the party is set to organize.

According to Bredoumy Soumaila, the PDCI spokesperson, before the convention, a team will be established by the party president to update the PDCI-RDA government program.

He also issued a warning against party members who might consider running as independent candidates after losing the party’s nomination, stating that such actions would deeply disappoint the PDCI.

As part of its preparations for the elections, the PDCI has been ramping up efforts, including launching a membership drive that registered more than 23,000 new members by the end of August 2024.

In a political move on August 9, the PDCI hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with other major opposition parties in Côte d’Ivoire, aimed at ensuring transparent and inclusive elections.
