Senegal Customs Seizes Over $2 Million Worth of Illicit Goods

Senegal’s Customs Department has intercepted illicit drugs, counterfeit medicines, and expired food products valued at 1.3 billion CFA francs (over $2 million).

The operations, conducted between late November and early December 2024, targeted the trafficking of prohibited goods.

Coordinated by river-sea customs units under the South Littoral Customs Subdivision, the efforts involved maritime brigades from Mbour, Joal, Fimela, and other key regions.

This significant seizure highlights Senegal’s ongoing commitment to protecting public health and combating illegal trade, reinforcing the country’s stance against the circulation of harmful products.
