Consumer prices in Senegal increased by 1.4% year-on-year in March 2026, according to the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD).
The rise was mainly driven by higher costs of food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.7%) and restaurant and accommodation services (+2.7%), alongside increases in health, household goods, and personal care.
Underlying inflation, excluding energy and fresh products, stood at 2.6%.
Prices of local goods rose by 2.0%, while imported products recorded a slight decline of 0.3%.
Overall, the increase was led by non-durable goods and services, reflecting continued pressure on everyday living costs.
