Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has urged the international community to step up efforts against discrimination and violence while advancing gender equality.
Speaking at the high-level meeting of the 80th UN General Assembly dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women (Beijing+30), he reaffirmed
Senegal’s commitment to empowering women and girls, stressing that equality is a universal requirement and a foundation for development.
Highlighting Senegal’s long-term Vision 2050 agenda, President Faye emphasized the central role of women and youth as pillars of stability and drivers of sustainable prosperity.
He called for a collective global response to ensure future generations inherit a fairer and more harmonious world, underscoring the need for continued action to end discrimination and promote inclusive progress.
