Nigeria to Host 2027 Intra-African Trade Fair Targeting $50 Billion in Deals

Nigeria will host the fifth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2027 from November 5 to 11, 2027 in Lagos after signing the host country agreement with African Export-Import Bank, the African Union Commission and the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat.

The agreement was concluded in Nigeria’s commercial capital, officially confirming the country as host of the major continental trade gathering. Nigeria succeeds Algeria, which hosted the previous edition and recorded nearly $49.94 billion in trade and investment deals.

Organisers say the 2027 event, themed “Global Africa, Smart Trade – From Market Access to Market Power,” aims to attract more than 100,000 visitors, 2,500 exhibitors and participants from over 100 countries, with a target of exceeding $50 billion in trade transactions and investments.

The program will feature trade exhibitions, investment forums focused on the AfCFTA, B2B and B2G networking platforms and a Global Africa day dedicated to the diaspora, alongside initiatives such as Creative Africa Nexus for the creative economy and a startup pavilion.

Chairman of the advisory council Olusegun Obasanjo described Lagos hosting the fair as a significant step toward strengthening intra-African trade, while Industry, Trade and Investment Minister Jumoke Oduwole said the event could become a defining moment for boosting commerce and investment across the continent under the AfCFTA framework.
