The Gambia and the Kingdom of Morocco have renewed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and security ties following a high-level bilateral meeting in Rabat.
Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Hon. Sering Modou Njie, paid an official visit to Morocco on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, at the invitation of his Moroccan counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Nasser Bourita.
According to a joint communiqué issued following the visit, the two countries reaffirmed their dedication to deepening cooperation in key sectors, including diplomacy, trade, education, and security.
Officials described the talks as “constructive,” with both sides conducting a comprehensive review of ongoing bilateral initiatives.
The meeting also underscored the shared values and mutual respect that have historically defined relations between Banjul and Rabat.
The communiqué emphasized a joint vision for regional peace, stability, and sustainable development, a goal both governments say will guide future engagements.
The visit is being hailed as a significant step forward in cementing the strategic partnership between the two nations and advancing Africa’s broader goals of integration and collaboration.
