Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara has assured citizens of a peaceful, secure, and democratic presidential election scheduled for October 25, 2025.
In a national address ahead of Côte d’Ivoire’s 65th Independence Day celebrations in Bouaké, he emphasized that every citizen’s right to vote would be fully respected, and called on political, social, and civil actors to act responsibly in preserving national stability and unity.
Meanwhile, the main opposition coalition—the PPA-CI/PDCI Common Front, representing parties led by former President Laurent Gbagbo and ex-Crédite Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam—is pushing for the inclusion of their leaders on the electoral list.
The group has planned a demonstration in Yopougon, Abidjan, on Saturday, August 9, to demand political dialogue and ensure a transparent and inclusive electoral process.
