Senegal Exports Nearly 3 Million Barrels of Crude Oil in June, LNG Shipments Also Rise

Senegal exported 2.9 million barrels of crude oil in June 2025 from the Sangomar offshore field.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum, and Mines, the exports delivered through three cargoes (SAN034, SAN035, SAN036), were sold on the international market, bringing the country’s total crude exports for the second quarter to 9.63 million barrels and keeping the annual production target of 30.53 million barrels on track.

These figures bring the total volume of crude oil traded in the second quarter to 9.63 million barrels, maintaining the annual forecast at 30.53 million barrels, in line with government projections.

The June report, released under Senegal’s Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) commitments, confirms stable production levels since Woodside Energy extracted the first barrels from Sangomar in June 2024.

LNG activities also expanded with two shipments totaling 0.33 million cubic meters from the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, in addition to 168,426 m³ loaded in May. Onshore, the Gadiaga field recorded 207,737 Nm³ of gas in June, contributing to a quarterly total of 548,078 Nm³.

Authorities reaffirmed their pledge to manage natural resources transparently and sustainably amid Senegal’s growing presence in the regional energy sector.
