Two Nigerian Soldiers Killed by IED in Northeastern Borno State Patrol

Two Nigerian military officers were killed and one injured on Tuesday during a patrol between Damboa and Komala in Borno State after their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED).

The soldiers, part of the 25th Brigade’s explosive ordnance disposal team, were on a road dominance operation and escort mission to the Komala exchange point in the northeast when the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m.

The Nigerian Army commended the fallen soldiers for their bravery and announced that a full report on the attack would be released in due course.

The affected region remains a hotspot for armed group activity, including Boko Haram and the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP), who continue to stage attacks against both military and civilian targets.
