Chad and Benin have signed a visa exemption agreement on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The deal was concluded by Chadian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul and his Beninese counterpart Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, who also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and other shared interests.
As part of the agreement, Chad announced it will open an embassy in Benin to replace its consulate general, while Benin plans to establish a diplomatic mission in N’Djamena.
Until now, both countries have been represented only by consulates.
